Our new normal

With our life being kind of up on the air the past few months it’s nice to have hit a routine for this month.

The house has sold. We’ve both moved in with my parents. Fitz has made his debut. It’s been wonderful having Wes here 24/7 these first few weeks while we’re getting used to being parents. I love that he can go to Fitz’s appointments with me, and I don’t have to feel bad about waking him up in the middle of the night to help me if needed since he doesn’t have to be up for work in the morning. Wes is a fantastic dad and as he says, it’s his favorite job he’s ever had.

It’s been great having my parents here to help as well. They love being grandparents and take the chance to hold him or watch him any time they can. We love that between feedings they’ll watch him so we can run an errand or go get ice cream, or just get out of the house sans Fitz for a bit.

We’re getting a routine here. We are adjusting to parent life. But we know that more change is to come as Weston looks for jobs and we look for a place to live. And with that will come finding a new church. Making new friends. Figuring out what our social life will be like with a baby in tow. I see far less late nights in our future. I see MOPS and play dates and a new look at what community will be for us. We’re excited.
